FAIRFIELD — Becknell Industrial has purchased a 14-acre industrial site in the city of Fairfield, where it will develop a 176,800-square-foot speculative industrial building.
Construction is expected to be complete during the first quarter of 2018.
Becknell Industrial specializes in the development, investment and management of industrial properties across the United States. The company owns interests in 151 properties totaling nearly 19 million square feet.
“Becknell is excited to further expand our presence in the Cincinnati market and to continue to build upon the success that we’ve experienced at our Port Union development project,” said Katrina Cupp, Becknell’s assistant vice president of investments.
CBRE assisted with the purchase of the land, located on Commerce Center Drive, off of Seward Road.
“The location is perfect because of its proximity to the distribution and manufacturing core of Northern Cincinnati,” said Jeremy Kraus, first vice president at CBRE. “This building will offer existing and new-to-market tenants the opportunity to operate in a modern, efficient facility. The features in the building will help tenants lower operational costs while also helping to retain and recruit talent in this competitive labor landscape.”
Located in the core of northern Cincinnati’s manufacturing and distribution hub, the new building will include several sustainability features to reduce operating costs and has been designed to accommodate multiple tenants.
The location is accessible from multiple interchanges along Interstate 75 and Interstate 275 and is within 600 miles of more than 60 percent of all U.S. manufacturing.
