Becknell Industrial, based in Indianapolis, develops warehouse distribution centers all over the country. Now, they’ve purchased five parcels of land for a four building project at Laburnum and Seven Hills Boulevard for just over $4 million.

Porter Realty handled the sale for the Ukrop family. Executive Vice President Clifford Porter said the airport area has a very strong business and manufacturing base.

“The total square footage, when its built out, will be $805, 190 square feet.”

Becknell will call it The Airport Logistics Center.

“There is currently no blocks of space which is ‘high bay,’ meaning 32 clear ceiling and above, so this product will help fill that need.”

Porter said the site is strategically located.

“Seven Hills connects with Airport Drive, which feeds right into the airport, and it connects with 895, 295 and I 64. You can very easily get in and around the metropolitan area.”

Construction of the first building is expected to begin in the next month or so.
