Becknell Industrial announced today that construction is now underway on a 100,440-square foot, built-to-suit industrial facility for Poynter Sheet Metal, Indiana’s largest full-service sheet metal and custom metal crafter. The new state of the art fabrication facility is being built on 8.6 acres within the Precedent South Business Park in Greenwood, Indiana and is scheduled for delivery later this year.

We are pleased that Poynter chose Becknell Industrial for its new facility,” said Pete Anderson, Becknell’s Executive Vice President Investments. “This project represents our continued commitment to expand our presence in the Indianapolis metro area and our on-going effort to build relationships with our customers.”

Mark Writt with CBRE represented Poynter Sheet Metal in the transaction and The Peterson Company will serve as Becknell’s general contractor.

Peterson is honored to be part of such a great private/public partnership. We are grateful to The City of Greenwood, all its entities and Mayor Mark Myers for fully supporting this project and to all of the companies involved,” said Larry Siegler, Chief Operating Officer, The Peterson Company.

Poynter’s new facility will feature, 28′ clear height, 8 dock doors, three drive-in doors, 50′ x 50′ column spacing and abundant car and trailer parking. The facility also will include 12,000 square feet of office space and be fully protected by an ESFR fire suppression system. In addition, the building is expandable by more than 54,000 square feet.

Becknell and Peterson were able to put together an aggressive schedule that met our needs,” said Joseph Lansdell, President, Poynter Sheet Metal. “Not only will this facility serve as our corporate headquarters for our 300 employees, but it will also house fabrication, engineering and sales functions.
