Becknell Industrial Purchases Infill Development Site in Indianapolis

Nov 6, 2013

National real estate company, Becknell Industrial has acquired 31 acres of industrial development land on the northwest side of Indianapolis. The purchase is Becknell’s first land acquisition in the Indianapolis market and can accommodate up to 600,000 square feet of light to medium manufacturing and warehouse/distribution space.

Located at the southeast quadrant of 86th Street and Georgetown Road in the North by Northwest Business Park, the parcel represents the largest industrially-zoned property available within the I-465 loop. Adjacent to Park 100, one of the most successful business parks in the country, the location also offers numerous amenities and immediate interstate access to I-465 and I-65. It is just 20 miles from the Indianapolis International Airport. Becknell anticipates the site will likely be developed with two mid-sized modern distribution warehouse buildings.

“We believe the site will be attractive for nearby businesses that seek a modern functional facility in the immediate area,” said Pete Anderson, Executive Vice President - Investments.

Operating on a national platform in 30 states, Becknell Industrial just recently entered the Indianapolis market with the purchase of a 250,000 square foot industrial property located in the Axcess 70 business park on the city’s Northeast side from Browning Investments. The Company continues to search for investment and development opportunities to expand Becknell’s presence in the Indianapolis market.
